Hadji Abual Qassim Shirazi (Irani), a descendant of Lotf Ali Khan (Shah of Zand dynasty), was born in Shiraz, Iran. Pressure from the Qajar dynasty on his family made him migrate to Bushehr, where he established "Hadji Abul Qassim Shirazi Trading House". In the glory days of Bushehr he was famous for his honesty and professionalism. Since then, he started his business in foreign countries; India, China, Iraq, Russia and Tanzania and established his branches in Shiraz, Bahrain, Mumbai, Basra, China, Burma, Zanzibar and Kuwait. He also took a significant role in foundation of “the chamber of commerce” in collaboration with other great merchants of his era.   He chose “Irani” as his telegraph Name for his communication network. The first ever phone line in Bushehr was installed in his office building in 1911. He founded many mansions in Bushehr, Shiraz, Bahrain, Basra and Kadhimiya. Mansions founded in Bahrain and the Trading House buildings in Bushehr are still standing.
